Comparable to correcting protruding teeth with braces
Normal ears have a fold called anthelix in the cartilage of the outer ear. The anthelix-fold bends the ear and makes it lie close to the head. Usually protruding ears have no or very little anthelix-fold. As a result to this the ears stick out from the head. Sorribes Ear Method gently moulds the cartilage of the ear and creates the missing anthelix-fold permanently.

  • In rare cases, small pressure marks can appear behind the ear, if the silver clip is used incorrectly or if the clip is used for too many hours. These marks will normally disappear very quickly within a few days.
  • In some cases a little wound can develop. It will disappear in a few days.
  • The ears will often get red in the beginning of the treatment. This is normal and is no cause for concern.
  • The strips may in some cases cause skin irritation. If this is the case the skin protection spray will normally solve the problem.
  • Al products are allergy tested but this is of no guarantee. In few cases, allergy reactions may occur.
  • Soreness of the outer ear during treatment may occur in rare cases. Soreness does not appear treating small children, but we have seen it in a few cases treating older children, teenagers and adults with very stiff ears.

Silver clip

The silver clip is a small ear clip made of silver. It is provided in different sizes and thicknesses appropriate to different ages. Size medium lenght is 1,8 cm (0.7 in). The silver clip is mounted with a pad and is placed on the ear during day- and/or nighttime. The silver clip folds the ear and holds it against the head while gently moulding the cartilage and gradually developing a permanent fold. The silver clip is used together with the strip.

What is the silver clip?

The silver clip is a small clip made of silver. It measures approx. 0.5 inches on all sides. The clip folds the ears and gently moulds the ear cartilage while graduallyshaping the ears until they lie naturally against the head.

Do I have to wear the silver clips in the daytime?

We recommend to use the silver clip up to 15 hours day and/or night. Most clients use the silver clip at home and at night during sleep.

Can the silver clip fall off by it self?

If the silver clip is not applied correctly it might fall off. Check if it is properly applied by pulling the clip a little after placing it on the ear, and make sure the grip is good and firm.

Can the silver clips get damaged?

If the silver clips are used incorrectly or forced on the ear in the wrong way, it might get damaged. Be careful not to open the silver clips too wide. When not in use always store the silver clips in the original box. If a clip is damaged contact Sorribes Online to get a replacement clip.

Can children take off the silver clips?

If your child really wants to pull off the silver clip, it is possible. However, it is our experience that children very easily accepts the clips. They quickly forget about the clips and wear them unnoticed during play and other activities.

Can I wear earrings and still use the silver clip?

Yes, without any problems. Avoid big ear jewelery that prevents applying the silver clip properly on the ear.

Pads
 for the silver clip

The silver clips are mounted with small soft adhesive foam pads before use. The pads are mounted with double sided tape and attached inside the silver clips. The two products are always used together. The pads are replaceable and are used both to fasten the silver clip to the ear and to protect the skin. The silver clip and the pads are recommended for use both day and night.

Change the pads every 2nd or 3rd day. The pads don’t need to be very sticky in order to stick to the ears.

Strip

The strip is a very thin (0,2 mm) transparent double adhesive specially designed patch. The strip is attached behind the ear and will form the missing cartilage fold in the ear. It is ideal for use in the daytime as it is transparent and invisible behind the ear when used. We recommend to use the strip 20 hours daily, and to use it minimum 15 hours daily together with the silver clip.

Together the strip and the silver clip provide a biomechanical system that shapes the cartilage of the ear. The more the products are used, the sooner the desired result is achieved. The strip keep the ears fixed to the head during treatment and is invisible when used. If you prefer discretion you can use the strip alone at daytime and the strip and the clip together at nighttime. This will prolong treatment period but will not affect the permanent results.
